Successful SAP ECC integration
Von Roll and Int4 have successfully completed the integration of SAP ECC with external scales using a serial port interface. After connecting a scale to the workstation, users can have the system determine the weight of a handling unit with the touch of a button directly from the SAP application, for example, in the Packing Station program (HUPAST) or other custom solutions in the SAP system.
Int4 has developed a custom PC service that runs as a registered RFC server receiving and sending calls from/to the SAP system and transferring data from the external device. The instructions used to communicate over a serial COM port can be customized (XML file) to support different types of scales used in the production facility.
